Summary:

We collected 341 responses from 41 respondents and the key findings are as follows:

  • There were 85 comments about local assets with a strong sense of diversity and community.
  • Respondents recognised underlying health conditions and communication issues as a challenge but were most frustrated by inconsistent and unhelpful behaviours by service providers.
  • Respondents felt the new primary care roles should provide a platform through which community agencies could be better utilised to support local services.
  • It was highlighted that in order to work the new roles need to link up properly and communicate well with one another.
  • Residents wish to have more say in how services are designed.

Conclusions:

Despite residents having positive remarks about their community and the asset based approach it was felt that more information about the neighbourhood approach and the decision making behind it was required as they are unsure why when living in one area their services are in another.

There is a strong sense of community but they wish for their diversity to be recognised more especially with regards to mainstream services.
