Cost of Living and Health and Wellbeing

Bolton Local Authority have been doing lots of work to try and support people. The following are some of the initiatives:

  • £2.1M in supermarket vouchers to all children in receipt of Free School Meals (School Age) and entitled to free school meals(pre-school age) – this is an offer through all the school holiday periods and equates to £15 per child per week (£70 one off vouchers to cover summer holidays) covering over 15,000 children
  • £1.1M Local Welfare Provision scheme – food, help with energy costs and essential household items
  • £1.2M Winter Contingency Fund – proposals to be agreed in the Autumn
  • £400K investment in Bolton’s Fund to support community base organisations
  • £150K investment in Money Skills
  • £150K investment in Care & Repair Service
  • £150K investment to support Care Leavers, Foster Carers and Carers
  • £100K investment in Warm Spaces to commence from Autumn 2023
  • £60K investment in housing cost support
